Make Money Online

Posted by admin On October - 2 - 2008

I have been all over the Internet looking for ways to generate money online. That is with and without owning a website of blog. It is a long drawn out process looking for suitable companies to put a smile on your face. And the majority of them wont! Here is a small list that I have compiled over months of trial and error. Hopefully this will be able to help you make a decision and save some time. We all know that time is money.

  1. Google Adsense- This should be no surprise to many of you. They are way ahead of the game when it comes to contextual advertising, which means more advertisers in their program. I have been happy with Google Adsense for the most part, other than randomly being smart priced, which usually sucks. But either way Google Adsense will most likely be your largest source of revenue, from newb blogger to pro, although private ad sales can bring a lot of money if your site has a lot of traffic.
  2. Text Link Ads- TLA is an interesting service that basically sells links for you. They have plugins for blog/sites that place a block full of hyper-links to other sites. The owners of those sites pay TLA to place links on certain pages, once again depending on the amount of traffic you have and your pagerank. They also provide in text links that seamlessly flow with your page. That way there is no need for extra space for ads, or annoying pop ups that arise as you hover your mouse over links.  The only draw back fro TLA is that Google seems to penalize sites that use it and any paid link service in general.
  3. Yahoo Publisher Network- I have tried for months to sign up but I don’t think they are taking any more comers as of now…. they are still in beta version I believe. Or it could just be that I was denied without a notice, who knows. But I’ve read that their subject targeting is pretty bad, and you’ll end up with ads that have nothing to do with your page… so see if you have anymore luck than I did…
  4. Chitika- Chitika is another ad service, except they are product based. This works great with technology or electronics websites that review or sell products. They have pictures is most ads that draw viewers attention towards them. They can also be used in conjunction with AdSense to boost click through rates!
  5. Kontera- They strictly for in text ads. They are the annoying pop ups you get when you scroll over certain links. Although they are a lot let intrusive than pop ups, and they also conserve a lot of space on your page. Unfortunately they only cater to very high traffic websites. The only reason I was accepted was because I entered John Chow’s coupon code that by passes that prerequisite.
  6. Private Ad Sales- While these companies certainly aren’t in any certain order, Private Ad sales can be a giant portion of your revenue. Just think of your website as a billboard, or television show that every one watches. People will pay top dollar to get some face time, the only problem is you must have a lot of traffic to make a nice amount of money with this option.  Also the 125X125 ad sale has blown up on the scene of blogging recently, so keep this in mind when setting up your blog/sites.
  7. Last but definitely not least of my list of online money makers are Affiliate Networks, such as Never Blue Ads, PepperJam, ClickBank, and Market Leverage. Within these networks are thousands of companies and products that need to be marketed. And by doing so you will receive a certain percentage or specified amount of money for delivering traffic and possible sales to these perspective companies. Although I have just started Affiliate Marketing I plan on devoting some serious time to this method.
